Course Description

Israel publishes more books per capita than any other country, and its writers have won international recognition, including the Nobel Prize for Literature
and the Man Booker International Prize. In this class, we will explore three short stories by some of Israel’s most gifted writers – Amos Oz, Savyon Liebrecht, and
A.B. Yehoshua. Each story sheds light on a different facet of the Israeli experience, giving us a unique window into the culture, history, and mindset of the Jewish homeland.

Read: The stories will be available in both Hebrew and English, and participants will be asked to read them in advance. The discussion will be in English.
