Course Description

Explore the lives and legacies of four Jewish immigrant women, whose creativity and entrepreneurial spirit helped shape 20th century American fashion. Through their groundbreaking designs, participants will discover how these innovators left a lasting mark on style and culture. The program also highlights their local impact, featuring stories from Clevelanders who wore their creations and the department stores that introduced their fashion to Northeast Ohio. The second session, held at the Western Reserve Historical Society, includes a guided tour of the exhibit and an introduction to Cleveland’s Jewish-led garment industry.
