Engineering better viruses to attack the bacteria that infect us In response to an alarming increase in drug-resistant bacterial infections, scientists and doctors are using environmentally-isolated bacteriophages (viruses that infect bacteria) as medicines. Using biophysical approaches, we can engineer made-to-order bacteriophages optimized for improving human health.
