Rapid advances in neuroscience, artificial intelligence and genetic engineering are reshaping the boundaries of human capability. These developments promise new possibilities while raising complex ethical, legal, and social justice questions. The course invites both professionals and community members to explore how these advancements may transform medicine, identity, and the future of humanity.
Guided by distinguished scholars, clinical ethicists, and practitioners, the course will examine a range of timely and thought-provoking topics, including:
- Ethical challenges in AI-mediated human enhancement
- Ethical dimensions of stimulant use—from clinical treatment to cognitive enhancement
- Emerging research on adaptive behavior, Natural neurological networks
- Novel neuroenhancement technologies
- Challenges at the genetic frontier: CRISPR and gene editing in embryos and adults, and the ethical implications of genetic modification
- Social determinants, aging, and the future of disease prevention
