Course Description

Discover the rich history and diversity of Jewish life in Cleveland through guided visits to local synagogues. Participants will explore the architecture, symbols, and stories behind some of the area’s most meaningful Jewish spaces. Learn about the building’s history, unique monuments and memorials, the congregation it serves, and the denomination and traditions practiced there. Gain insight into the synagogue’s role in Jewish religious, cultural, and communal life. Deepen the understanding of the vibrant and diverse Jewish communities that have shaped Cleveland’s past and present.

August 13: Park Synagogue, 27500 Shaker Blvd, Pepper Pike
August 20: Green Road Synagogue, 2437 South Green Rd, Beachwood
August 27: Shaarey Tikvah Synagogue, 26811 Fairmount Blvd, Beachwood
September 3: Temple Beth Shalom, 50 Division Street, Hudson

Participants will meet at the synagogue’s main entrance. No transportation is provided.
