Course Description

With war, labor unrest, and racial violence fading into the past, Americans embraced a new spirit of excitement in the 1920s. The decade pulsed with energy and creativity, sparking a remarkable era of cultural and technological innovation. Music, film, and radio flourished, transforming entertainment and everyday life. Celebrity culture emerged for the first time, as figures like Babe Ruth turned baseball into the nation’s pastime. Charles Lindbergh’s transatlantic flight captured the world’s imagination, and women, newly enfranchised, began to reshape the social and political landscape.

This course is offered with the generous support of the Association for Continuing Education.
