Course Description

The Roberts Supreme Court has had a profound impact on American politics, government, and life in general. The impact has resulted from its decisions relating to abortion, affirmative action, gerry-mandering, gun control, presidential authority, power and immunity, regulation of political campaign contributions, the place of religion in the public sphere, voting rights, and others. In certain instances, the decisions have marked a sharp departure from prior precedents and a different approach to Constitutional interpretation from that which had been characteristic in the past. Class will include a presentation of the cases and their impact and ample opportunity for class discussion.

This course is offered with the generous support of the Association for Continuing Education.
