Course Description

Join Judge David Avraham Voluck as he shares his stories of living and working with Alaska’s Indigenous sovereign nations. Discover the historical cords connecting Jews and Native peoples and an awakening to strive for an observant Jewish life while isolated on a remote island in Alaska’s Tongass Rainforest. Judge Voluck sits as Chief Judge for the Sheet’ka Kwaan - Sitka Tribe of Alaska; Presiding Judge for the Aleut Community of St. Paul Island; Presiding Judge Pro Tem for the Chickaloon Village Traditional Council; and as visiting trial and appellate judge throughout villages in Alaska.
